TOPIC: The Enemies Of Praise (Seeds Of Destiny 30 August 2026)

Seeds Of Destiny For Today 2026 MESSAGE

SCRIPTURE: This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise. – Isaiah 43:21

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: When focus shifts to what is absent, discouragement sets in and praise begins to die.

Our anchor Scripture makes it clear that man was created for the praise of God (Isaiah 43:21). We live to praise, and we praise to live. Praise is also a spiritual covenant with physical dividends. When we praise God well, He does not leave us empty-handed.

However, because praise is our reason for existence and the channel for divine manifestations, the enemy usually confronts our praise and worship life.

Now, what are the enemies of praise?

  1. Lack of faith, belief, or trust in God. When your faith begins to fail, your praise begins to drop. When your trust begins to shake, your praise begins to die.
1 Peter 1:8 says, Yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory. Joy that results in praise is sustained by faith. Therefore, doubt and unbelief attack praise at its root.
  2. Focusing on what is absent instead of what is present.
When focus shifts to what is absent, discouragement sets in and praise begins to die.

When Jesus was faced with the need to feed five thousand people, He did not focus on what was lacking; He focused on what was available. He took the five loaves and two fish, gave thanks, and God multiplied them (John 6:5-11). It does not matter what is absent in your life; there is something present. It does not matter what is missing; there is something remaining. As you focus on what God has already provided and give Him thanks, He supplies what is lacking.

  1. The forgetfulness of God’s Goodness. The Psalmist says in Psalm 103:2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits. The children of Israel forgot His works and wonders, and as they forgot, their praise disappeared (Psalm 78:11-13). Until you remember what God has done before, you are not qualified for what He will do again.
  2. Depression and discouragement from failed expectations. When expectations seem delayed or unmet, people become discouraged, and the spirit of heaviness replaces the garment of praise (Galatians 6:9).

Beloved, never entertain the spirit of unbelief. Refuse to focus on what is absent, don’t forget God’s goodness in times past, and reject the spirit of heaviness. Focus on what God has done, appreciate what is working, and maintain the attitude of gratitude so you can live perpetually in praise and worship to God.

REMEMBER THIS: When focus shifts to what is absent, discouragement sets in and praise begins to die.

ASSIGNMENT(S):

  1. Refuse the spell of unbelief and continually build your faith through God’s Word.
  2. Focus on what God has already done instead of what is yet to be done.
  3. Make thanksgiving and praise a daily lifestyle regardless of circumstances.

PRAYER: Father, thank You for Your Goodness and faithfulness in my life. I acknowledge that I live to praise You. Help me to focus on Your blessings so I can maintain a lifestyle of praise and worship, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.

AMAZING FACT: Just as a plant grows toward the direction of sunlight, the human mind tends to grow in the direction of its dominant focus.

PROPHETIC DECLARATION: Every garment of heaviness be destroyed from off your life today in Jesus’ Name.
