THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The major essence of Christianity is transformation into the Nature and Character of Jesus Christ.
Seeds Of Destiny For Today 2026 MESSAGE
There are many people in church today for many different reasons.
There are those who are in church merely for religious activities, and there are some who see church going as part of social engagements.
There are also many people who are in church in search of miracles.
The question is, what is the essence of Christianity? It is important we understand the essence of Christianity because anything we do in church that does not end us in heaven is a waste of life.
What is the use of the miracle of walking out of a wheelchair on earth and ending in hellfire in eternity? What is the use of blind eyes opening on earth if the owners still end in hellfire at the end of their lives? What is the use of testimonies of marital breakthrough, fruitfulness, wealth or financial breakthroughs if the recipients of such miracles end in hellfire?
Our anchor Scripture states that the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch because people observed their Christ-like character and conduct. They knew who they were before, and they saw who they became afterwards. They realised something about them changed.
Their lives reminded people of Christ, and so they were called “little Christs.”
The essence of Christianity is a genuine change into the Nature of Christ; that is, transformation into the Nature and Character of Christ. Anyone who knew you before you met Jesus should see you now and confirm that something has changed positively about you. Your life should remind people of Christ.
Your life should make people remember God and challenge them to be better.
Now, what are the changes we should expect as Christians in our live?
i. Change in our priorities in life.
The priorities of a genuine Christian can never be the same as the priorities of the people of the world. The Scriptures says in Mathew 6:33, Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness…
When you become a born-again Christian, fellowship with God, prayer, fasting, studying the Word, and intimacy with God become the first priorities of your life. The spiritual begins to command your attention more than every other thing.
ii. Change in habit and lifestyle.
If unbelievers lie, cheat, manipulate and a Christian does the same thing, then both will end up in the same eternal destination. Whenever a person becomes a Christian, those who knew that person before should be able to confirm that there is a visible change in his/her habit and lifestyle.
iii. Change in appearance and look.
Authentic Christianity should affect our look and appearance. The disciples were called Christians first in Antioch because their lives reflected Christ in both appearance and conduct. Our lives are meant to preach the gospel even before our mouths speak.
Beloved, let your life, appearance and conduct reflect Christ in such a way that draws people closer to God through you.
REMEMBER THIS: The major essence of Christianity is transformation into the Nature and Character of Christ.

- Examine your life and identify areas where positive transformation is needed.
- Review your priorities and ensure God remains first in everything you do.
- Allow your conduct, lifestyle and appearance to reflect Christ to the world and to people around you.
PRAYER: Father, thank You for Your Word to me today. I receive the grace for genuine transformation into the Nature and Character of Christ. Let my life reflect You and draw people closer to You, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
