Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE

There is a difference between working under open heavens and working under closed heavens. Today’s memory verse says that when the heavens are opened over you, they will give the rain in due season; you will get a harvest from your work, and as a result, you will begin to lend to nations. When the heavens are closed, according to Deuteronomy 28:23-24, the rain that falls will be like powder, and your efforts will be useless.

The way to experience open heavens, as seen in Deuteronomy 28:1-2, is to hearken diligently unto the word of the Lord and to observe and do all that He commands.
One of His commands is in Malachi 3:10:

Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

When the heavens are opened over a person, everything he or she touches will begin to prosper. When you live a holy life and do the will of God, the heavens will open over you. When Peter allowed Jesus to use his boat and then obeyed His instruction to let down his nets for a catch, his obedience led to an overflowing miracle. However, because Peter had operated under closed heavens for so long, he let down only one net. Even with that, he caught a great multitude of fishes (Luke 5:1-7); imagine what would have happened if he had let down many nets as Jesus instructed. In the name that is above every other name, I pray that you will hear God’s voice concerning your next level and obey His instructions.

Prayer is another thing that causes a believer to walk under open heavens. When Jesus went to River Jordan to be baptised by John the Baptist, He did what other people didn’t do when they were being baptised: He prayed.

Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened, – Luke 3:21

While others entered the water and came out under closed heavens, Jesus prayed as He went into the water and came out under an open heaven. Spending time in fervent prayers will give you results that others do not have because the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man has great power and produces wonderful results (James 5:16).

PRAYER POINT

Father, I pray for the grace to pray fervently and obey You diligently so that I can live under open heavens, in Jesus’ name.

Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE

Yesterday, I explained that labouring means working so hard and having little or nothing to show for it. Work is easier when there are results. When I go for Mount Zion Hour at the RCCG Headquarters, where I have to lay hands on thousands of people, it is hard work, but I don’t mind because testimonies follow.

When a pastor fasts, prays, preaches, and follows up converts with all of his or her strength, yet the church does not grow, it is a terrible experience. I know this because l have experienced it. In the early days of my ministry, God promised that I would lead a mighty end-time army, but l couldn’t see the army. The church congregation would increase by two members in one week and decrease by four the next week. I organised seminars every month, and many people would be in attendance. However, after the seminars, the congregation would remain small. One day, God asked me what I wanted for my birthday. I replied that I wanted a miracle for every member of my congregation. He instructed me to organise a programme where He would be giving out the miracles. We called it the Holy Ghost Service, and that was how God turned things around for me.

When God speaks concerning a matter, results that human efforts cannot produce are achieved. For example, when we needed N17,000 to roof the first auditorium in Redemption City, I had only N1,000. At the same time, one of the RCCG pastors was building an accommodation for some members of his congregation, and he needed N1,000 to roof it. He came to me to ask me for the money, and I got upset and said, “I need N17,000, and I have only N1,000, and you want to collect it? Please leave my office.” He got up to leave, but God spoke to me and told me to give him the N1,000. Reluctantly, I called him back and gave him the money. As he went away, God said, “Son, why are you grumbling? There were two problems; I solved one through you, and there’s only one left.” Before the day ended, somebody came from another state in the country and said, “I have just collected rent from my tenants, and God said I should bring everything to you.” The money was exactly N17,000!

When you hear God’s voice, obey Him, and leave the rest to Him because your rest from labour and toil lies in your obedience.

KEY POINT

God’s voice brings rest, but you won’t enjoy that rest until you obey all He says.

2 And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets.

3 And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon’s, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship.

4 Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.

5 And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.

6 And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.

7 And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.

Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE

In 1963, while I was a teacher at Ondo Boys’ High School in South-West Nigeria, I was teaching 35 lesson periods every week. Another tutor, who had more experience and qualifications than me, was teaching just 21 lesson periods every week. He was earning four times more than I was earning and was still grumbling about the workload. I went to him and said, “Sir, you are teaching 21 lesson periods while I am teaching 35, yet you are earning four times what I am earning, and you are complaining.” He drew me close, patted me, and said, “My boy, you don’t understand. I’m being paid for what l have already done. I’m being paid for what is in my brain.” While I was labouring and earning peanuts, the other teacher wasn’t working as hard, yet he was earning more.

There is a difference between working diligently and labouring. A manual labourer has to work very hard to get little pay. You can’t call a manager a labourer; both of them go to their workplaces in the morning, but one goes to work, and the other goes to labour. Even though a manager arrives at the office very early every day and works hard, he or she gets paid something worthwhile for his or her efforts. In Genesis 2:15, God gave Adam a garden to tend. Some Bible scholars have described the Garden of Eden to be as big as Lagos, Nigeria. To ask one man to keep a garden of that size requires a lot of work. However, Adam was working, not labouring. After he fell into sin, he began to labour (Genesis 3:17-19), such that when he worked, he sweated – it wasn’t recorded that he sweated before this time. Additionally, after labouring and sweating, the ground yielded thorns and thistles.

In Luke 5:5, Peter toiled all night and caught nothing – that is labouring. Even though he worked hard all night, he had nothing to show for it. However, Peter’s labouring days ended when Jesus came into his life. If you have been labouring and you want your labouring days to come to an end, rebuild your connection with God, and He will put an end to fruitless labours in your life forever.

Beloved, if for whatever reason, you are experiencing fruitless labour even though you have surrendered your life to Christ and are living according to His will, I decree that the Lord will step into your situation today and put an end to labouring in your life, in Jesus’ name.

KEY POINT

An active connection with God will ensure that you do not experience fruitless labour.
