TOPIC: God Has Helped You
MEMORISE: “There is none like unto the God of Jeshurun, who rideth upon the heaven in thy help, and in his excellency on the sky.” – Deuteronomy 33:26 ( KJV)
READ: Psalm 124:1-8 (KJV)
1 If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, now may Israel say;
2 If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us:
3 Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us:
4 Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul:
5 Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.
6 Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.
7 Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.
8 Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Genesis 1-4
Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE
It is a new year, and you have every reason to thank God. You may think that last year did not go as you planned, but believe me, if not for God’s mercy, you wouldn’t have survived the year (Lamentations 3:22). This is why you shouldn’t make the mistake of complaining to God and grumbling about things that didn’t go as you wanted.
Rather, you should thank Him for bringing you this far. If you go into the year with thanksgiving, you are assured of access to the One who can make you have a great year (Psalm 100:4). However, if you go into the year with complaints, especially complaints against the only One who can help you, you are treading dangerously. Numbers 11:1 says:
“And when the people complained, it displeased the Lord: and the Lord heard it; and his anger was kindled; and the fire of the Lord burnt among them, and consumed them that were in the uttermost parts of the camp.”
In 1 Samuel 7:12, Prophet Samuel said, “Hitherto you have helped us.” In other words, this means, “In the journeys thus far, we have received help from you.” This is a statement of survivors – those who say, “Thank God I have made it thus far.” Today’s Bible reading says that if the Lord had not been on our side, we would not be where we are now.
You can never tell how many battles God has fought for you. You may not even know how many victories He has given you. As for me, thus far in my journey of life, God has helped me. Despite everything the devil has tried, l am still here. If you are a survivor, you should really spend some time thanking God for all He has done for you.
If you passed through tough situations last year and you are alive now and reading this, then you have indeed been helped by God. If last year went smoothly for you, despite all the troubles in the world, then you have also been helped by God, for without Him, you could not have achieved anything (John 15:5). Whichever your case was, you should be very grateful to Him for all the help He rendered to you (1 Thessalonians 5:18).
Beloved, go ahead now and sing praises to the Lord. Spend the day thinking about His goodness to you, and ensure you enter into this new year with thanksgiving. It is the foundation for receiving more from Him.
KEY POINT
Give thanks to God for all He has done for you, and be prepared to receive more from Him this year.
HYMN 17 – Praise My Soul The King Of Heaven
1 Praise, my soul, the King of heaven;
to His feet your tribute bring.
Ransomed, healed, restored, forgiven,
evermore his praises sing.
Alleluia, alleluia!
Praise the everlasting King!
2 Praise Him for His grace and favour,
to His people in distress.
Praise Him, still the same as ever,
slow to chide, and swift to bless.
Alleluia, alleluia!
Glorious in His faithfulness!
3 Fatherlike He tends and spares us;
well our feeble frame He knows.
In His hand He gently bears us,
rescues us from all our foes.
Alleluia, alleluia!
Widely yet His mercy flows!
4 Angels, help us to adore Him;
you behold Him face to face,
Sun and moon, bow down before Him,
dwellers all in time and space.
Alleluia, alleluia!
Praise with us the God of grace!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

1 Thus saith the Lord to his anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have holden, to subdue nations before him; and I will loose the loins of kings, to open before him the two leaved gates; and the gates shall not be shut;
2 I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron:
3 And I will give thee the treasures of darkness, and hidden riches of secret places, that thou mayest know that I, the Lord, which call thee by thy name, am the God of Israel.

HYMN 19 – Rock Of Ages Cleft For Me
1 Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
let me hide myself in thee;
let the water and the blood,
from thy wounded side which flowed,
be of sin the double cure;
save from wrath and make me pure.
2 Not the labors of my hands
can fulfill thy law’s demands;
could my zeal no respite know,
could my tears forever flow,
all for sin could not atone;
thou must save, and thou alone.
3 Nothing in my hand I bring,
simply to the cross I cling;
naked, come to thee for dress;
helpless, look to thee for grace;
foul, I to the fountain fly;
wash me, Savior, or I die.
4 While I draw this fleeting breath,
when mine eyes shall close in death,
when I soar to worlds unknown,
see thee on thy judgment throne,
Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
let me hide myself in thee.

Open Heaven For Today 2024 Monday Daily Devotional By Pastor E. A. Adeboye – Forget The Things Of The Past

TOPIC: Forget The Things Of The Past
MEMORISE: “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,” – Philippians 3:13 ( KJV)
READ: Isaiah 43:18-19 (KJV)
18 Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.
19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Revelation 20-21
Open Heaven For Today 2024 MESSAGE
We have come to the end of another year, and I believe that many people are thinking about how the year turned out. Many may even begin to feel that there are certain things that they should have done better. It is normal to have such feelings, as they can help a person to make better decisions in the future. However, it is unfruitful to dwell on the past. There is nothing to gain from living in regret about the past. Beloved, it is time to put the past behind you and begin to look forward to the glorious year that is ahead of you.
First of all, no matter what you have or do not have yet, you must always give thanks. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 says, “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” Yes, the year has come to an end and you wish you had done better, but if you look closely, you will discover that you have many reasons to thank God. If you had died in the course of the year, you would not even be here to reflect on the past. There are so many things to thank God for. Show God that you are grateful because when God sees a grateful heart, He always visits that fellow with a blessing (1 Kings 3:3-15).
Secondly, note that God can make all things work together for your good (Romans 8:28). God can turn whatever you count as a loss into profit for you. When Joseph was thrown into prison in Genesis 39:20, it seemed like a bad experience for him; little did he know that the prison was his stepping stone to becoming the Prime Minister of the greatest nation in the world at that time. Don’t ever write yourself off; always put God in the equation of your life. When you do this, you will experience a complete turnaround and His tremendous blessings will follow.
If, however, you have been living in sin, do not expect God to help you turn things around. He said in Isaiah 3:11, “Say unto the wicked that it shall be ill with him.” This means that it shall not be well with anyone that is living in sin. On the other hand, the Bible says in Isaiah 3:10, “Say unto the righteous, it shall be well with him.”
Beloved, if you want to experience God’s blessings in the year ahead of you, make up your mind to live according to His will daily.
ACTION POINT
Live according to God’s word every day in 2025, and all will be well with you. Happy New Year in advance.
HYMN 16 – ‘Tis So Sweet To Trust In Jesus
1 ’Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to take Him at His Word;
Just to rest upon His promise;
Just to know, “Thus saith the Lord.”
Refrain
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er!
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
O for grace to trust Him more!
2 O how sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to trust His cleansing blood;
And in simple faith to plunge me
’Neath the healing, cleansing flood!
3 Yes, ’tis sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just from sin and self to cease;
Just from Jesus simply taking
Life and rest, and joy and peace.
4 I’m so glad I learn’d to trust Thee,
Precious Jesus, Savior, Friend,
And I know that Thou art with me,
Wilt be with me to the end.
