BIBLE READING: Proverbs 6:16-19

16 These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:

17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,

18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,

19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

MESSAGE:

A fellow who loves what God loves will also hate what He hates. In today’s Bible reading, we see a list of some of the things God hates. The first on the list is a proud look; God hates pride. If you claim to love God, you should also hate pride. No matter your influence, title, or parents’ wealth, you should not look down on other people or treat them badly.

Another thing God hates is a lying tongue and a false witness. No form of lie is permitted for a Christian. The Bible says that the devil is the father of all liars (John 8:44), and the destination of all liars is the lake of fire (Revelation 21:8). A true child of God does not tell lies; he or she tells the truth at all times.

My dear child, I implore you to take your time to study today’s Bible reading so as to know the other things that God hates. Ensure that you live a life that pleases Him at all times; do not engage in the things He hates. I pray that the Lord will grant you the grace to do His will at all times, in Jesus’ name.

PRAYER POINT:
Dear Lord, please help me to love what You love and hate what You hate.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Luke 5:17-39 Joshua 19-20

HYMN 7 – I AM THINE, O LORD

1 l am Thine, O Lord
I have heard Thy voice,
And it told Thy love to me;
But I long to rise in the arms of faith
And be closer drawn to Thee.

Chorus:
Draw me nearer, nearer blessed Lord,
To the cross where ThoU hast died.
Draw me nearer, nearer, nearer blessd Lord,
To Thy precious, bleeding side.

2 Consecrate mne now to Thy service, Lord,
By the power of grace divine;
Let my soul look up with a steadfast hope,
And my will be lost in Thine.

3 Oh the pure delight of a single hour
That before Thy throne I spend,
When I kneel in prayer, and with Thee, my God
I commune as friend with friend!

4 There are depths of love that I cannot know
Till l cross the narrow sea;
There are heights of joy that I may not reach
Till I rest in peace with Thee.
