14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

MFM Devotional For Today 2024 MESSAGE:
In continuation of our discourse on the shining light, it is necessary that we remind ourselves that if the Bible calls for our light to shine, then it means that some lights are not shining. What could it mean for a light not to shine? What can prevent a light from shining? These shall the focus of today’s message. Every serious Christian must do well to ensure that his or her light shines.

The Bible tells us about the city that is set on a hill. It means that your life should be like a city on a hill not in a valley, so that your light will not be hidden. Are you correctly positioned? You may not be able to shine if you remain a valley candidate instead of a mountain-top Christian. Your location and association will affect your shining. Fowls walk around on the ground while eagles fly and soar high in the sky. From far above, in an exalted position, seated in Christ, you can beam your light, and the entire world will be illuminated and brightened at your manifestation.
Similarly, when you light a candle in a house, you don’t put it under a bowl, it will be extinguished in no time. The light is put on a candlestick from where it lightens the whole house. If the physical light can be so rich in quality, how much more the light of God that is far above human imagination and comprehension!

As light dispels darkness, the light of God comes with the Truth of the Word of God to debunk the lies of satan which is assigned to enslave the souls of men. However, when a child of God, who should show forth God’s glory, is found to be operating in the standard of the world, then he or she will not shine as light. Rather, he will blend with the darkness, making no difference!
PRAYER POINTS:
MORNING
- Powers assigned to extinguish the light of God in my life, die now, in the name of Jesus.
- I want to be like Jesus in word and in deed; so, help me God, in the name of Jesus.
- I shall shine bright and clear. and souls shall be won to Christ through my shining, in the name of Jesus.
EVENING
- My character shall not kill the light of God in me, in the name of Jesus.
- My life shall not bring disgrace to the kingdom of God, in the name of Jesus.
- Anything in me preventing me from shining, come out now and die, in the name of Jesus
- Father, be glorified in my life anywhere I go and in anything I do in the name of Jesus.
