TOPIC: The Wisdom Of Saving (Open Heaven for Teens, 22 March 2026)
MEMORISE: There is treasure to be desired and oil in the dwelling of the wise; but a foolish man spendeth it up. Proverbs 21:20 (KJV)
BIBLE READING: Genesis 41:33-36
33 Now therefore let Pharaoh look out a man discreet and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt.

34 Let Pharaoh do this, and let him appoint officers over the land, and take up the fifth part of the land of Egypt in the seven plenteous years.
35 And let them gather all the food of those good years that come, and lay up corn under the hand of Pharaoh, and let them keep food in the cities.
36 And that food shall be for store to the land against the seven years of famine, which shall be in the land of Egypt; that the land perish not through the famine.
MESSAGE:
Many people spend all they have without considering their future. Wise people, however, plan ahead for their future. In the Bible, Joseph demonstrated wisdom by saving grain for seven years in Egypt before a famine struck. His ability to plan ahead enabled him to become a global problem-solver, helping nations to preserve themselves during years of famine.

Similarly, you are meant to handle your finances and other resources with wisdom. Today’s memory verse makes us understand that a wise person saves and invests, while a foolish person spends carelessly. Even if your earnings and allowances from your parents are quite small, develop the habit of saving a portion of them. They may seem small initially, but over time, they will grow and serve a greater purpose.
It is important to note that a good financial plan not only includes saving diligently to prepare for unexpected situations and spending wisely; it also includes giving to God. My dear child, avoid the temptation to spend lavishly simply because you have the means to. Instead, learn to save so you can have more later.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Luke 2:25-52, Joshua 7-8
HYMN 10: I’m Pressing On The Upward Way
1 I’m pressing on the upward way,
New heights I’m gaining every day;
Still praying as I onward bound,
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.
Refrain:
Lord, lift me up and let me stand,
By faith, on Heaven’s table land;
A higher plane than I have found;
Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.
2 My heart has no desire to stay
Where doubts arise and fears dismay;
Tho’ some may dwell where these abound,
My pray’r, my aim is higher ground.
3 I want to live above the world,
Though Satan’s darts at me are hurled;
For faith has caught the joyful sound,
The song of saints on higher ground.
4 I want to scale the utmost height,
And catch a gleam of glory bright;
But still I’ll pray till Heav’n I’ve found,
Lord, lead me on to higher ground.
