MEMORISE: Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. Philippians 4:6
READ: Philippians 4:6-7 (KJV)
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
MESSAGE:
Over the last few years, the world has experienced economic downturns, driving many people into debt and poverty. In almost every community, you will find people talking about how horrible the economic state of their country is. As God’s child, however, the best thing you can do is to be steadfast in prayer.
I will always tell Christians to pray because it works. Hence, I will continue to tell Christians to pray for their countries. I said this some time ago in a video that went viral, and many people said all manner of things against me. If only they knew what would have happened in the world if the few who are praying had stopped.
My dear child, don’t be deceived: the spiritual controls the physical. Many brilliant policies have been formulated by the best financial experts in various countries, yet the countries continue to encounter economic downturns. It is good to plan, but you must pray to God to make your plans successful. Therefore, rather than complain about the state of your country, pray. Ask God to have mercy on your nation, its leaders, and its citizens. Don’t stop praying because prayer works!
ACTION POINT:
For the rest of this week, pray and declare good things over your country for at least ten minutes daily.
HYMN 7: Sweet Hour Of Prayer
1 Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
That calls me from a world of care,
And bids me at my Father’s throne
Make all my wants and wishes known.
In seasons of distress and grief,
My soul has often found relief,
And oft escaped the tempter’s snare,
By thy return, sweet hour of prayer!
2 Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
Thy wings shall my petition bear
To Him whose truth and faithfulness
Engage the waiting soul to bless;
And since He bids me seek His face,
Believe His Word and trust His grace,
I’ll cast on Him my every care,
And wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer
3 Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer!
May I thy consolation share,
Till, from Mount Pisgah’s lofty height,
I view my home and take my flight.
This robe of flesh I’ll drop, and rise
To seize the everlasting prize,
And shout, while passing through the air,
“Farewell, farewell, sweet hour of prayer!”
