TOPIC – Deal With It Now (Open Heaven for Teens, 20 September 2026)

Christianity

MEMORISE: There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. 1 Corinthians 10:13

BIBLE READING: Numbers 20:8-12

8 Take the rod, and gather thou the assembly together, thou, and Aaron thy brother, and speak ye unto the rock before their eyes; and it shall give forth his water, and thou shalt bring forth to them water out of the rock: so thou shalt give the congregation and their beasts drink.

9 And Moses took the rod from before the LORD, as he commanded him.

10 And Moses and Aaron gathered the congregation together before the rock, and he said unto them, Hear now, ye rebels; must we fetch you water out of this rock?

11 And Moses lifted up his hand, and with his rod he smote the rock twice: and the water came out abundantly, and the congregation drank, and their beasts also.

12 And the LORD spake unto Moses and Aaron, Because ye believed me not, to sanctify me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore ye shall not bring this congregation into the land which I have given them.

MESSAGE:

Dealing with weakness requires intentional effort and consistency. For someone whose weakness involves money, he or she must consciously resist the temptation to steal or spend recklessly. Many times, when a person has successfully resisted some temptations, it may look like he or she has overcome them, but such a person has to remain alert and conscious. This is because the devil is always very patient with any individual he wants to destroy; he waits for moments when the individual is at a relaxed state before he strikes again with temptation.

My dear child, it is important for you to identify and address your weaknesses fast before they destroy you. Moses’ weakness was anger, and it got him into trouble as seen in today’s Bible reading. Likewise, David had a weakness with women, which he did not deal with, and it ended up bringing a curse upon his lineage. Till today. the sword has not departed from Israel (2 Samuel 12:10). The nation is still involved in one battle or another.

Beloved, if you have any weaknesses and refuse to address them, they can bring generational consequences. Deal with them now, stay alert, and never take the devil’s bait.

Quiz: Who in the Bible brought a curse on his lineage as a result of his weakness for women?

ACTION POINT:
Identify all your weaknesses and start working on them from today.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Luke 3, Joshua 9-10

HYMN 67– Ho, My Comrades

1 Ho, my comrades! see the signal
Waving in the sky!
Reinforcements now appearing,
Victory is nigh!

Chorus
“Hold the fort, for I am coming,”
Jesus signals still,
Wave the answer back to heaven,
“By Thy grace we will, “

2 See the mighty host advancing
Satan leading on:
Mighty men around us falling,
Courage almost gone!

3 See the glorious banner waving!
Hear the trumpet blow!
In our Leader’s name we’ll triumph
Over ev’ry foe!

4 Fierce and long the battle rages,
But our help is near:
Onward comnes our great
commander,
Cheer, my comrades, cheer!
