MEMORISE: There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. – 1 Corinthians 10:13

BIBLE READING: Genesis 3:1-6

1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:

3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.

4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

MESSAGE:

The devil can use one little’ sin to get many Christians into his trap. He might tempt them by saying something like, “You have been faithful as a Christian all your life; a little sin will not matter” He can further tell them that they can just ask God for forgiveness after committing a sin. Unfortunately, many Christians who have fallen into this trap eventually fall even deeper into sin.

The Bible says in Galatians 5:8-9 that, “This persuasion does not come from Him who calls you. A little leaven leavens the whole lump.” Don’t fall for the devil’s deception and allow yourself to be involved in a ‘little’ sin. That little sin can lead you to hell. There is no little sin in God’s sight; sin is sin, and the wages of sin is death.

My dear child, separate yourself from anything that will make you sin against God. His grace is available to help you overcome any temptation in your life. In today’s memory verse, the Bible says that you will not be tempted beyond what you can bear. If you are facing any temptation right now, all you need to do is to ask for God’s help before it is too late. Take a moment, and ask Him to help you right now.

KEY POINT:
Father, please help me to overcome every temptation, in Jesus’ name.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:

HYMN 55 – Christian, Seek Not Yet Repose

1 Christian, Seek Not Yet Repose;
Hear Thy Guardian Angel Say,
“Thou Art In The Midst Of Foes:
Watch And Pray!”

2 Principalities And Powers,
Mustering Their Unseen Array,
Wait For Thy Unguarded Hours:
“Watch And Pray.”

3 Gird Thy Heavenly Armour On;
Wear It Every Night And Day
Ambush’d Lies The Evil One:
“Watch And Pray.”

4 Hear The Victors Who O’ercame;
Still They Mark Each Warrior’s Way;
All With One Sweet Voice Exclaim,
“Watch And Pray!”

5 Hear, Above AlI, Hear Thy Lord,
Him Thou Lovest To Obey;
Hide Within Thy Heart His Word:
“Watch And Pra!.”

6 Watch, As If On That Alone
Hung The Issue Of The Day;
Pray, That Help May Be Sent Down:
Watch And Pray.
