Books & Literature
1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
4 So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.
MESSAGE:
When God called Abraham to leave his homeland and follow Him, Abraham obeyed without hesitation, even though he had no idea where he was going. He trusted God even when he didn’t see the whole picture. Today, his faith in God is an example for us to follow.
In Yorubaland, a Christian is called ‘Onigbagbo’, meaning ‘Person of faith’. This emphasises that our pilgrimage on earth is built on faith. God has called you to separate yourself from sin and walk with Him, just as He instructed Abraham. My dear child, don’t hesitate to surrender all to God today so that you can walk with Him.
The essence of Christianity is that you spend eternity with God. To achieve this, sin and unrighteousness must be avoided. Consider Enoch, who was so holy that he walked with God and was taken away from this earth (Genesis 5:24). Beloved, you too can walk with God, as Enoch did. Ask Jesus to wash away your sins with His precious blood and grant you the grace to never return to them.
KEY POINT:
To walk with God, you need to be holy.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Mark 1:23-45, Leviticus 24-25
HYMN 3 – All To Jesus I Surrender
1 All to Jesus I surrender,
All to Him I freely give;
I will ever love and trust Him,
In His presence daily live.
Refrain:
I surrender all, I surrender all;
All to Thee, my blessed Savior,
I surrender all.
2 All to Jesus I surrender,
Make me, Savior, wholly Thine;
Let me feel Thy Holy Spirit,
Truly know that Thou art mine. [Refrain]
3 All to Jesus I surrender,
Lord, I give myself to Thee;
Fill me with Thy love and power,
Let Thy blessing fall on me. [Refrain]
