TOPIC: The Gift Of No Condemnation (TREM Devotional 17 March 2025)

“She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.” (John 8:11 KJV)

MESSAGE:

There is virtually no believer that has not committed one sin or the other after receiving Christ. The problem with us is that we classify sin. We consider fornication, adultery, stealing, abortion and other obvious ungodly acts as major sins. Who told you that anger, gossip, hatred, and other seemingly daily errors are not sins? The law says if you offend in one, you have offended in all. Therefore, if grace does not reach out to you, you cannot speak of making it to Heaven.

Consider the woman that was caught in adultery. Her accusers said the law says any woman caught in adultery must be stoned to death. That was truth of her situation. But when Jesus was to handle the issue, He began to write on the floor. If you have been to Jerusalem, almost everywhere is made of stone and Jesus was writing with his fingers on the stone. Then Jesus lifted His head and said, “…He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.” (John 8:7 KJV)

Do you know that God wrote the commandments two times? The first one was broken and then He wrote the second one (Deuteronomy 10:1-5). And so, Jesus wrote two times on the floor. By the time He raised His head the second time, the accusers had all gone. He now spoke to the woman for the first time. “…Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee?” (John 8:10 KJV)

The first thing He did was to speak for the woman, and then he spoke with her. The first thing grace did was to speak for you, before speaking with you. Jesus now said something very vital to her, “…Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.” (John 8:11 KJV)
