TOPIC: The Power Of Light (Seeds Of Destiny 14 February 2026)
SCRIPTURE: Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. – Isaiah 60:1-2.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Darkness cannot coexist with light.
Seeds Of Destiny For Today 2026 MESSAGE
It has been proven over time that light is not just about illumination; it is a spiritual weapon with authority and dominion over darkness.
The Bible reveals five major ways in which light exercises its power and dominion over darkness. And today, we shall be looking at those five ways.
Christianity
- The Domination of Darkness
Light causes darkness to lose its throne, authority, and influence. John 1:5 says, ‘And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not’.
Where darkness once appeared to rule through sin, oppression, or evil schemes, the Light of God’s Presence exposes its weakness. Darkness cannot coexist with light.
- The Displacement of Darkness
Light drives darkness out of the space it occupies. Revelation 12:9 tells us that the devil and his angels were cast out of heaven to the earth. Wherever God’s light enters, darkness loses its place, and enemy’s strongholds are uprooted.
- The Disarming of Darkness
Light strips darkness of its weapons, rendering it powerless. Evil forces operating through witchcraft, curses, or oppression lose their influence the moment light is introduced.
For example, during one Worship and Wonders Night in our church, a witch traveling for a witchcraft assignment suddenly crash-landed while entering a “no-flight zone” over the church. The witch became powerless against God’s light. No wonder, Jesus says in Matthew 28:18 that all power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. By the authority of Jesus, darkness is disarmed wherever His light shines.
- The Demystification of Darkness
Light exposes what was hidden. Darkness thrives in secrecy, but the moment light is introduced, hidden schemes, mysteries, and manipulations are exposed. Matthew 10:26 says: Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.
A man bought a new car and took it to his village, and it mysteriously began to malfunction. God revealed the issue in a dream, and the car began to function perfectly after it was moved to its proper place. Light brings understanding and liberation.
- The Discovery of the Content of Darkness
Darkness hides things that belong to you. Searching for things in the dark is frustrating, but light reveals hidden things, blessings, opportunities, and solutions. When God’s light shines on your life, you can access everything belonging to you that was previously concealed by darkness.
Beloved, darkness cannot survive where God’s light is present. Your breakthrough, blessings, and deliverance come when you allow His light to dominate, displace, disarm, and demystify the darkness around you.
Remember this: Darkness cannot coexist with light.
ASSIGNMENT(S):
- Meditate on Isaiah 60:1-2 and declare the glory of God over every area of your life.
- Pray for the authority of Christ to manifest wherever darkness seeks to operate in your family, community, or destiny.
PRAYER: Father, I thank You for Your light that exposes darkness and brings revelation. Help me Lord, to walk in the light of Your Word, Lord in Jesus’ Name.
