Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE
When you make Jesus your Lord, you will enjoy divine preservation. Today’s Bible reading says that He who keeps Israel neither sleeps nor slumbers. When God keeps a fellow, nothing and nobody can harm him or her (Romans 8:31).
Years ago, one of my daughters was serving the Nigerian government in Port Harcourt, a state capital in Southern Nigeria, as part of the mandatory national youth service programme for graduates of tertiary institutions. At that time, a new highway had just been constructed along the route leading to Port Harcourt from Lagos, and vehicles would drive on it at breakneck speeds because the road was really smooth. One day, she was travelling from Lagos to Port Harcourt, and she sat at the back of a public vehicle. Suddenly, the car’s front tyre ruptured, and the car began to somersault due to its speed. She shouted, “Jesus!” as the car somersaulted the first time, and unseen hands picked her up from the vehicle through the window and sat her down by the highway. She watched the car somersault five more times before it stopped. People rushed to the scene and saw her sitting by the highway. When they asked her how she got there and she told them she was in the car that had just had an accident, they couldn’t believe her. This is what happens when the Lord puts His angels on guard over your life at all times (Psalm 91:11).
When the Lord is your keeper, He will keep your foot from being moved (Psalm 121:3). When people are complaining about the state of the economy, for instance, you won’t be moved because the Lord is your keeper. Only Christians who have made Jesus their Lord and Saviour will have no worries in the midst of dangerous situations, like Daniel in the den of hungry lions. God sent His angel to shut the mouths of the lions and prevented them from harming Daniel because he had made God his Lord, and he was God’s responsibility. The next day, those who had made political power their lord were thrown into the same den, and the lions ate them up (Daniel 6:16-24).
People who don’t have Jesus as their Lord are open to the Devil’s attacks. Have you genuinely surrendered your life to the Lord? If you haven’t, please do so today. I pray that the Lord will keep you in all your ways with His mighty hands, in Jesus’ name.

REFLECTION
When you make Jesus your Lord, you will enjoy divine protection.
HYMN 19 – Rock Of Ages, Cleft For Me
1 Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
let me hide myself in thee;
let the water and the blood,
from thy wounded side which flowed,
be of sin the double cure;
save from wrath and make me pure.

2 Not the labors of my hands
can fulfill thy law’s demands;
could my zeal no respite know,
could my tears forever flow,
all for sin could not atone;
thou must save, and thou alone.
3 Nothing in my hand I bring,
simply to the cross I cling;
naked, come to thee for dress;
helpless, look to thee for grace;
foul, I to the fountain fly;
wash me, Savior, or I die.
4 While I draw this fleeting breath,
when mine eyes shall close in death,
when I soar to worlds unknown,
see thee on thy judgment throne,
Rock of Ages, cleft for me,
let me hide myself in thee.

Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE
When you make Jesus your Lord, you will never lack strength. Psalm 84:5 says, “Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them.” When people are complaining of tiredness and weakness, a fellow who has made Jesus Christ his or her Lord will keep going from strength to strength.
They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God. – Psalm 84:7
If you are a child of God, every time you come before Him, He gives you a greater dose of strength than the one you had before. Nobody appears before God and leaves weak and weary. If you come before God discouraged, you will leave encouraged. If you come tired, you will leave strengthened. God’s presence supplies endless strength to weary hearts. In areas where you are weak, your Lord will make His strength available to you if you wait on Him. Isaiah 40:29-31 says:
He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Another way God strengthens His children is by sending good news their way so that their hearts will be filled with joy. I pray that God will send you good news that will strengthen your heart, in Jesus’ name.
I remember when we were building the Redemption Camp (now Redemption City), we built a house from its foundation and completed it in just seven days. I was constantly supervising the construction, but I didn’t feel tired in any way. This was because I was excited about what God was doing, and the Bible says that the joy of the Lord is our strength.
…for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the LORD is your strength. – Nehemiah 8:10
The joy of the Lord supplies abundant strength, and strength is the ability to do whatever you want to do. When you have strength, you will be able to do everything your heart desires to do for God. I pray for you today that the Lord will strengthen you and fill your heart with joy, in Jesus’ name.
PRAYER POINT
Father, please let me hear good news that will strengthen my heart in You today, in Jesus’ name.
HYMN 27 – What A Friend We Have In Jesus
1 What a friend we have in Jesus,
all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
all because we do not carry
everything to God in prayer!
2 Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged;
take it to the Lord in prayer!
Can we find a friend so faithful
who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness;
take it to the Lord in prayer!
3 Are we weak and heavy laden,
cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge-
take it to the Lord in prayer!
Do your friends despise, forsake you?
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In his arms he’ll take and shield you;
you will find a solace there.

TOPIC – The Lord Is My Peace
MEMORISE: “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” – Philippians 4:7 (KJV)
READ: Acts 27:7-44 (KJV)
7 And when we had sailed slowly many days, and scarce were come over against Cnidus, the wind not suffering us, we sailed under Crete, over against Salmone;
8 And, hardly passing it, came unto a place which is called The fair havens; nigh whereunto was the city of Lasea.
9 Now when much time was spent, and when sailing was now dangerous, because the fast was now already past, Paul admonished them,
10 And said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives.
11 Nevertheless the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship, more than those things which were spoken by Paul.
12 And because the haven was not commodious to winter in, the more part advised to depart thence also, if by any means they might attain to Phenice, and there to winter; which is an haven of Crete, and lieth toward the south west and north west.
13 And when the south wind blew softly, supposing that they had obtained their purpose, loosing thence, they sailed close by Crete.
14 But not long after there arose against it a tempestuous wind, called Euroclydon.
15 And when the ship was caught, and could not bear up into the wind, we let her drive.
16 And running under a certain island which is called Clauda, we had much work to come by the boat:
17 Which when they had taken up, they used helps, undergirding the ship; and, fearing lest they should fall into the quicksands, strake sail, and so were driven.
18 And we being exceedingly tossed with a tempest, the next day they lightened the ship;
19 And the third day we cast out with our own hands the tackling of the ship.
20 And when neither sun nor stars in many days appeared, and no small tempest lay on us, all hope that we should be saved was then taken away.
21 But after long abstinence Paul stood forth in the midst of them, and said, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss.
22 And now I exhort you to be of good cheer: for there shall be no loss of any man’s life among you, but of the ship.
23 For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve,
24 Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee.
25 Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me.
26 Howbeit we must be cast upon a certain island.
27 But when the fourteenth night was come, as we were driven up and down in Adria, about midnight the shipmen deemed that they drew near to some country;
28 And sounded, and found it twenty fathoms: and when they had gone a little further, they sounded again, and found it fifteen fathoms.
29 Then fearing lest we should have fallen upon rocks, they cast four anchors out of the stern, and wished for the day.
30 And as the shipmen were about to flee out of the ship, when they had let down the boat into the sea, under colour as though they would have cast anchors out of the foreship,
31 Paul said to the centurion and to the soldiers, Except these abide in the ship, ye cannot be saved.
32 Then the soldiers cut off the ropes of the boat, and let her fall off.
33 And while the day was coming on, Paul besought them all to take meat, saying, This day is the fourteenth day that ye have tarried and continued fasting, having taken nothing.
34 Wherefore I pray you to take some meat: for this is for your health: for there shall not an hair fall from the head of any of you.
35 And when he had thus spoken, he took bread, and gave thanks to God in presence of them all: and when he had broken it, he began to eat.
36 Then were they all of good cheer, and they also took some meat.
37 And we were in all in the ship two hundred threescore and sixteen souls.
38 And when they had eaten enough, they lightened the ship, and cast out the wheat into the sea.
39 And when it was day, they knew not the land: but they discovered a certain creek with a shore, into the which they were minded, if it were possible, to thrust in the ship.
40 And when they had taken up the anchors, they committed themselves unto the sea, and loosed the rudder bands, and hoised up the mainsail to the wind, and made toward shore.
41 And falling into a place where two seas met, they ran the ship aground; and the forepart stuck fast, and remained unmoveable, but the hinder part was broken with the violence of the waves.
42 And the soldiers’ counsel was to kill the prisoners, lest any of them should swim out, and escape.
43 But the centurion, willing to save Paul, kept them from their purpose; and commanded that they which could swim should cast themselves first into the sea, and get to land:
44 And the rest, some on boards, and some on broken pieces of the ship. And so it came to pass, that they escaped all safe to land.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Luke 1-2
Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE
God has not promised us a storm-free life. In John 16:33, Jesus said, “…In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” When we make Jesus our Lord, we are assured of peace and safety amidst terrible storms.
In our Bible reading for today, Paul was on his way to Rome on a ship with two hundred and seventy-six passengers. When they got to a place called The Fair Havens, Paul perceived there would be danger on the way and told the people on the ship:
…Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with hurt and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives. – Acts 27:10
When you make Jesus your Lord, He will warn you beforehand of some storms. Whenever you sense something wrong about a particular move you are about to make or a decision you are about to take, that might be Jesus trying to shield you from a storm.
Since Paul did not have experience or a special degree in sailing ships, the captain decided to ignore his words of caution. Sometimes, God will send the instruction that will bring you peace through people you least expect such from. People who always expect God to manifest Himself to them in a spectacular manner often miss Him because He often chooses to express Himself with simplicity. Because the captain refused to listen to Paul, he sailed the ship straight into a terrible storm that almost claimed the lives of everyone on board. They lost many possessions and couldn’t eat for many days because they lost hope. However, Paul, who knew the Lord as His peace, encouraged them even though they had earlier disregarded his counsel.
For there stood by me this night the angel of God, whose I am, and whom I serve, Saying, Fear not, Paul; thou must be brought before Caesar: and, lo, God hath given thee all them that sail with thee. Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me. – Acts 27:23-25
Beloved, when the Lord is your peace, He will rescue you from every storm and ensure that nothing is missing or broken in your life. When you make the Lord your peace, He will calm your heart, even in the midst of the trials and challenges of life.
KEY POINT
When the Lord is your peace, no matter the storms you face, you will emerge victorious.
HYMN 29 – When Peace Like A River Attendeth My Way
1 When peace like a river
attendeth my way,
when sorrows like sea billows roll;
whatever my lot,
thou hast taught me to say,
It is well, it is well with my soul.
Refrain
(may be sung after final stanza only):
It is well with my soul;
it is well, it is well with my soul.
2 Though Satan should buffet, though trials
should come,
let this blest assurance control:
that Christ has regarded my helpless estate,
and has shed his own blood for my soul. Refrain
3 My sin oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!
my sin, not in part, but the whole,
is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more;
praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul! Refrain
4 O Lord, haste the day
when my faith shall be sight,
the clouds be rolled back as a scroll;
the trump shall resound and the Lord shall
descend;
even so, it is well with my soul. Refrain
