BIBLE READING: 1 CORINTHIANS 15:3-4
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
MESSAGE:
Jesus willingly left His heavenly glory to bear the punishment for our sins, thereby reconciling us to God. When He was crucified, the devil thought that the Saviour of the world had been killed, but on the third day, Jesus conquered the grave, bringing hope, healing, and restoration to all who trust in Him. His resurrection is the ultimate proof that we now have total victory over sin and death. Hallelujah!
Do you know anyone who is presently in the hospital or at home struggling with his or her health? I want you to exercise some faith in Jesus, who is the Resurrection and the Life. If you can visit the person to pray for him or her, please do so. However, if you are unable to do so, call his or her caregiver on the phone and ask that the phone be placed beside the sick person. Then say this prayer:
Lord Jesus, thank You for dying for us and rising on the third day. Thank You for the resurrection power made available to us through Your blood. I pray for this person (call his or her name), and I decree in the name of Jesus, rise up from your sick bed and be made whole.
I pray that the Resurrection and the Life will hear your prayer and heal such a person in an instant, in Jesus’ name.
QUIZ: On the __ day, Jesus rose from the grave.
KEY POINT
Spend the next ten minutes interceding for any sick person in your family, church, class, or community.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR
Mark 11, Numbers 36, Deuteronomy 1
HYMN 17: God Sent His Son, They Called Him Jesus
1 God sent His son, they called Him, Jesus
He came to love, heal and forgive;
He lived and died to buy my pardon,
An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives!
CHORUS
Because He lives, I can face tomorrow,
Because He lives, all fear is gone;
Because I know He holds the future,
And life is worth a living, Just because He lives!
2 How sweet to hold a newborn baby,
And feel the pride and joy he gives;
But greater still, the calm assurance:
This child can face uncertain days! [Chorus]
3 And then one day, I’ll cross the river,
I’ll fight life’s final war with pain;
And then, as death gives way to victory,
I’ll see the lights of glory and I’ll know He lives! [Chorus]
