TOPIC: The Easy Path Of Life [Open Heaven for Teens 31 October 2021]
MEMORISE: For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. 1 John 5:3
READ: 2 Kings 5:13-14
- And his servants came near, and spake unto him, and said, My father, if the prophet had bid thee do some great thing, wouldest thou not have done it? how much rather then, when he saith to thee, Wash, and be clean?
- Then went he down, and dipped himself seven times in Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came again like unto the flesh of a little child, and he was clean.
BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Jeremiah 29-30, Titus 1:1-16
MESSAGE:
Gods way is the best and easiest. I told some of my children that if God says there’s no more heaven or hell and allows everyone behave as they like, I would still choose this path because in the real sense of it, the consequence of sin on earth is as grievous as eternal damnation in hell.
Sadly, many people prefer difficult instructions and get their fingers burnt in the process. Thank God for Captain Naaman’s servant who advised his boss to submit to the simple instructions given by the man of God. He would have lost his blessings to pride. Like Naaman, people prefer to pay a higher cost to achieve their dreams instead of trusting God and obeying His simpler instructions. For example, a teenager who prefers to indulge in premarital sex or give in to masturbation is only opening up himself/herself to demons. This is a high risk because the demon will bring setback in the fulfilment of his/her dreams and God’s purpose for his/her life. God’s way is not difficult. You can walk in His path if only you are willing.
PRAYER POINT:
Father, please give me the grace to obey simple instructions.
HYMN: When We Walk With The Lord
- When we walk with the Lord
In the light of His word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will,
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.
Chorus:
Trust and obey!
For there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus,
but to trust and obey.
- Not a shadow can rise,
Not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt nor a fear,
Not a sigh nor a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey. - Not a burden we bear,
Not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief nor a loss,
Not a frown nor a cross,
But is blest if we trust and obey. - But we never can prove
The delights of His love,
Until all on the altar we lay,
For the favour He shows,
For the joy He bestows,
Are for them who will trust and obey. - Then in fellowship sweet
We will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in
the way;
What He says we will do,
Where He sends we will go;
Never fear, only trust and obey.
