THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Love is about giving people meaning and a reason to live.
Seeds Of Destiny For Today 2026 MESSAGE
Love is not merely a feeling; it is the nature and character of God. The Scripture declares in 1 John 4:8 that …God is love.
Since God is love, everything He created was designed to function according to the principle of love. God created the earth. And if God is love, it, therefore, means that the earth was created by love. And if the earth was created by love, it is meant to be operated by love.
Again, if God is love and God created man in His Image and Likeness, it means man was created by love in the image and likeness of love to exist and function in love as a loving being.
However, one major reason for the dysfunction we see in our world today is that humanity is attempting to function outside its creative format which is love. The earth was formatted for love, yet we see all forms of wickedness, selfishness, bitterness, violence, and hatred. Consequently, the earth is now malfunctioning because it is operating contrary to its original format.
So, what is love all about?
- Love is putting yourself in the shoes of others
Love is the ability to consider how another person feels and to see things from their perspective.
For example, how does it feel to be a wife who has food cooking on the fire, a telephone ringing, a baby crying, and someone knocking on the door at the same time? She carries the baby, goes to the kitchen, picks the phone call, and answers the door, almost all at once.
Putting yourself in the shoes of others helps you understand what they are going through.
How does it feel to be an employee? How does it feel to be a husband or a wife? How does it feel to carry another person’s responsibility?
When you understand how others feel, you can treat them according to what they need and desire.
- Love is about giving people meaning and a reason for living
Love gives people meaning and a reason to live. Love puts smiles on people’s faces and gives them reasons to rejoice.
When was the last time someone smiled because of you? When was the last time someone laughed because of you? When was the last time someone found meaning and a reason for living because they encountered you?
Beloved, we must live in such a way that people are better off because they encounter us. The world is full of people who make others regret their existence, but as children of God, we are called to make a positive difference in the lives of people around us.

- Consider what people may be going through before judging them.
- Identify someone who may be hurting or discouraged and reach out to them with genuine care and compassion.

PRAYER: Father, thank You for showing me the nature and power of love. Help me to put myself in the shoes of others, to be sensitive to their hearts and emotions, and to give people meaning and a reason for living, Lord, in Jesus’ Name
