SCRIPTURE: He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love. 1 John 4:8
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: No one can know God and not love people.
Seeds Of Destiny For Today 2026 MESSAGE
The Scripture makes it clear that we are to grow up into God in all things (Ephesians 4:15), and that includes growing into Him in love. Love is not static; it is a spiritual virtue and fruit. The fruit of the Spirit is love (Galatians 5:22), and because love is a fruit, it grows.
Everything that is a spiritual virtue has the capacity to grow. That is why 2 Peter 3:18 admonishes us to “Grow in grace.” This means that our love level is also expected to grow. Love exists in dimensions, levels, and degrees. And the growth of that love is the very proof that we are growing in our knowledge of God.
Joseph demonstrated this reality. His brothers hated him, plotted to kill him, sold him into slavery, and became responsible for thirteen years of hardship in his life. Yet, when God elevated him, he did not retaliate. Why? The Lord was with Joseph, and Joseph was with the Lord. Instead of retaliating, he prepared a feast for them, gave them the best part of Egypt, comforted them, and spoke kindly to them. His love had grown to a level where bitterness could no longer control his heart. This is the truth: no one can claim to know God and not flow effortlessly in love toward others.
One major factor that facilitates the growth of love is closeness to God, or intimacy with God. 1 John 4:8 says, “God is love.” And if a person walks closely with the God who is love, that person will naturally grow in love; and that growing love becomes visible evidence of a life that truly knows God.
Joseph’s life is a practical example. The Scripture repeatedly says, “The Lord was with Joseph” (Genesis 39:2, 21). And because the Lord was with Joseph, he could look at prisoners in the prison and have compassion on them, serving them, interpreting their dreams, and answering their questions. Compassion flowed naturally from him because the Lord was with him.
After the death of Jacob, Joseph’s brothers became afraid that he would finally take revenge on them for all they had done to him. But instead of taking revenge, Joseph told them, But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good, to bring to pass, as it is this day, to save much people alive (Genesis 50:20)
He further assured them: Now therefore fear ye not: I will nourish you, and your little ones… (Genesis 50:21).
Those were the same people who had planned to kill him and later sold him into slavery. Joseph could not retaliate, because the Lord was with Him, and he was with the Lord. Joseph’s love for his brethren, despite all they did to him was proof that he truly knew God.
Beloved, it is not possible for anyone to genuinely know and love God without flowing effortlessly in love towards other people. Christianity without love is hypocrisy. The closer you get to God, the greater your capacity to love people, and that love is the proof the world needs to see.
REMEMBER THIS: No one can know God and not love people.

- Develop a closer walk with God through daily fellowship in His Word and prayer.
- Ask God to remove every root of bitterness, resentment, and unforgiveness from your heart.
- Deliberately show love to someone, including those who may have offended you.
PRAYER: Father, draw me closer to You every day. Let my fellowship with You increase my capacity to love people genuinely. Remove every trace of bitterness from my heart, and increase my love for others, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
