TOPIC: Jesus Cares

MEMORISE: “Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.” – 1 Peter 5:7 (KJV)

READ: 1 Kings 17:1-16 (KJV)

1 And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the Lord God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.

2 And the word of the Lord came unto him, saying,

3 Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.

4 And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.

5 So he went and did according unto the word of the Lord: for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.

6 And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook.

7 And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land.

8 And the word of the Lord came unto him, saying,

9 Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.

10 So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.

11 And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand.

12 And she said, As the Lord thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.

13 And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son.

14 For thus saith the Lord God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the Lord sendeth rain upon the earth.

15 And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days.

16 And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the Lord, which he spake by Elijah.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Joshua 21-22

Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE

God cares deeply for all His children. In 2 Kings 4:1-7, we read about the widow of one of the sons of the prophets whose husband died and left her with a load of debt. When the creditor came and wanted to take her sons into bondage if she didn’t pay, she cried to Elisha, who told her to borrow many vessels and pour from the little bottle of oil that she had at home into them. The Great Provider stepped in, and she was able to pay off her debt and live off the proceeds of the oil she sold for the rest of her life. In John 6:5-13, Jesus fed 5,000 men, not counting women and children, with a boy’s lunch. To show that He truly cared, He multiplied the lunch until everybody was fed and there were twelve baskets of leftovers. These and many more stories show that Jesus truly cares.

Jesus also cares about us, not just our needs. He knows how fragile our human bodies are, and He wants us to be in good shape to do what He has called us to do. Years ago, there was a day l attended to people from 8:00am until 6:00pm when I managed to eat a little before attending our Bible study service. When I returned to my office, people were already waiting to see me. I kept praying for people until 10:30pm, and I was told there were ten more people waiting. By that time, my body was aching, and I was very tired. I asked God for what to do, and He said, “You don’t need to stand to pray for them. Sit down, touch their head, and let them go. They will receive their miracle.” I was surprised, and I said, “God, you mean I can talk to You, the Almighty, sitting down?” He replied that He has walked on the earth as a human, and He knows what it means to be tired.

Jesus knows our weak frame and cares deeply about us (Psalm 103:14). He is our High Priest who is touched with the feelings of our infirmities because He faced the same issues we now face (Hebrews 4:15). In today’s Bible reading, we see how God cared for His prophet throughout the famine; he wasn’t stranded at any point.

Beloved, put all your trust in God. He truly cares for you, and He will never leave you stranded.

PRAYER POINT

Thank You, Jesus, for Your loving care.

HYMN 5 – Blessed Assurance, Jesus Is Mine!

1 Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine
Heir of salvation, purchase of God
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood

Chorus:
This is my story, this is my song
Praising my Saviour all the day long
This is my story, this is my song
Praising my Saviour all the day long

2 Perfect submission, perfect delight,
Visions of rapture now burst on my sight,
Angel descending, bring from above
Echoes of mercy, whispers of love.

3 Perfect submission, all is at rest
I in my Savior am happy and blessed
Watching and waiting, looking above
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love

TOPIC: The Great Invitation

MEMORISE: “Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.” – Isaiah 55:1 (KJV)

READ: John 7:37-39 (KJV)

37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

39 (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Joshua 18-20

Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE

Jesus gave what many call ‘The Great Invitation’ to everyone (Matthew 11:28-30). He promised to give rest to everyone who comes to Him, and that includes you.

Jesus said in Matthew 6:31 that you should never worry. He wants you to cast all your cares on Him because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). He owns you, so He will take care of you. The question now is, does Jesus really own you? Does He own the thoughts of your heart, the direction and focus of your eyes, and your resources? If He truly owns you, then you have nothing to worry about. However, if there are parts of your life that you haven’t surrendered totally to Him, then there’s cause for worry.

My Father in the Lord taught me that it is what your father has that he will take care of you with. If God is your Father and owner, then He will take care of you with pleasures forevermore because they are abundant at His right hand (Psalm 16:11). However, if the devil owns you and you do his will, he will take care of you with lies and torment because that is his speciality. When the devil owns a fellow, that fellow will always be in need, because true satisfaction can only be found in God. The devil has nothing good to offer his own. While he has slaves, God has sons, and as a son of the Most High, all things are yours (1 Corinthians 3:21). God is extending a great invitation to you today, just like the one Jesus extended to the crowd on the great day of the feast in today’s Bible reading. He is calling you to come and drink and to come and buy wine without money and without price. He is calling you to a life of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost (Romans 14:17).

I call heaven and earth to record this day… that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: – Deuteronomy 30:19

The ball is in your court. Do not live in anxiety, fear, and confusion; accept the great invitation to surrender completely to God so you can enjoy all the goodies He has for His children. When you choose life, you make the best choice, not only for yourself but also for generations after you. Beloved, accept God’s great invitation – choose life.

REFLECTION

Are you choosing life with your thoughts, words, actions, and decisions?

HYMN 27 – What A Friend We Have In Jesus

1 What a friend we have in Jesus,
all our sins and griefs to bear!
What a privilege to carry
everything to God in prayer!
O what peace we often forfeit,
O what needless pain we bear,
all because we do not carry
everything to God in prayer!

2 Have we trials and temptations?
Is there trouble anywhere?
We should never be discouraged;
take it to the Lord in prayer!
Can we find a friend so faithful
who will all our sorrows share?
Jesus knows our every weakness;
take it to the Lord in prayer!

3 Are we weak and heavy laden,
cumbered with a load of care?
Precious Savior, still our refuge-
take it to the Lord in prayer!
Do your friends despise, forsake you?
Take it to the Lord in prayer!
In his arms he’ll take and shield you;
you will find a solace there.

Open Heaven For Today 2025 Sunday Daily Devotional By Pastor E. A. Adeboye – Creative Miracles

TOPIC: Creative Miracles

MEMORISE: “But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.” – Matthew 19:26 (KJV)

READ: John 9:1-7 (KJV)

1 And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth.

2 And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?

3 Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.

4 I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.

5 As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.

6 When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay,

7 And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Joshua 14-17

Open Heaven For Today 2025 MESSAGE

Miracles are extraordinary events that defy natural and scientific explanations. Our God is a God of miracles, and He takes great delight in shocking doubters and sceptics. God does different kinds of miracles, but today, I will focus on His creative miracles.

God performs creative miracles when people have concluded that a terrible situation is beyond remedy – nothing is impossible for Him. In today’s Bible reading, Jesus and His disciples passed by a man who had been born blind, and the disciples asked Jesus about whose sin was responsible for the man’s predicament. Jesus told them that it wasn’t a question of sin but that the man’s condition was intended to bring God glory. Jesus spat on the ground, made some mud, and put it on the blind man’s eyes. He then told the man to go and wash, and after he washed off the mud, he came back seeing. That is what I call a creative miracle – a miracle involving the act of creation. If the doctors have said that you have an irreversible medical condition, God will recreate the part of your body that is affected, in Jesus’ name. This was what God did in 2 Kings 5:1-14 when He healed Naaman’s leprosy and made his flesh become like that of a newborn baby.

I have seen numerous cases of women who didn’t have a womb but who gave birth to babies. Some of them had multiple births more than once. God is able to handle genetic issues, change blood groups, replace missing body parts, and even increase or reduce people’s weights and heights. A man who had childlike faith once sat listening to me. As miracles happened around the altar, he struggled to see all that was happening because his sight was blocked by people who were taller than him. He then said in his heart, “If only I was taller.” God heard him and told me that there was someone in the congregation who wished he was taller.

He told me to tell the person to look down, and if he finds that his trousers have become shorter, he should know that there is nothing wrong with them because he is the one who had grown taller. When it was time for testimonies, he came forward with his wife, who testified that her husband had indeed grown taller. How do you explain that? God’s creative power was at work to make the impossible possible.

Pray that God will give you creative miracles, in Jesus’ name.

PRAYER POINT

Father, please stretch forth Your mighty hands to heal and do mighty wonders and creative miracles in my life and family, in Jesus’ name (Acts 4:30).

HYMN 25 – The Great Physician Now Is Near

1 The great Physician now is near,
the sympathizing Jesus;
He speaks the drooping heart to cheer,
oh! hear the voice of Jesus.

Refrain:
Sweetest note in seraph song,
sweetest name on mortal tongue;
sweetest carol ever sung,
Jesus, blessed Jesus.

2 Your many sins are all forgiven,
oh! hear the voice of Jesus;
go on your way in peace to heaven,
and wear a crown with Jesus. [Refrain]

3 All glory to the risen Lamb!
I now believe in Jesus;
I love the blessed Savior’s name,
I love the name of Jesus. [Refrain]

4 His name dispels my guilt and fear,
no other name but Jesus;
oh! how my soul delights to hear
the charming name of Jesus. [Refrain]
